Ahrend NV (1996 –1999) – Now Lyreco!
Royal Ahrend NV is a large office furniture and office products company in the Netherlands. Ahrend Office Products is one of the main competitors of Corporate Express Europe. 
Ahrend NV has three main divisions, Ahrend Furniture, Ahrend Office Products and Ahrend Repro.
Ahrend Office Products
Ahrend Office Products has serviced the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany and Austria for a long time as b2b office supplier. On December 2nd, 2005 Lyreco has officially taken over Ahrend Office Products and its Reprographic division. The companies will co-operate from now on to service their clients in the most optimal way. At the end of 2008 Lyreco will have completely integraded Ahrend in its Benelux distribution center in Liege, Belgium, including Headquarters and name change. 
Lyreco is a global leader in the office supplies field, operating in 23 countries around the world.
My place in this organization
I started out my trainee ship for my graduation project at Ahrend Repographic. After 6 months of successful completion of my customer satisfaction survey, I was offered a Business Consultant position to support the implementation of a central ERP system for 11 repro – copy and print shops. Within 4 months I was promoted to Project Manager ERP.
After completion in time and budget of the ERP implementation I was promoted to Project Manager ERP to implement the system for the Dutch Office Products Division. During this project I was also getting responsibility to coordinate the German and Belgium implementations to build joined requirement and enhancement list and manage the daily operations of the software system.
The job role was a perfect match with my broad knowledge of processes across organizations and to translate this into business and system software requirements within the ERP software. Further the role brought me into the IS world to understand servers, systems and architecture concepts.
